| WEAR IT OR FRAME IT!
Each individually painted scarf is a unique creation, no two ever alike. 100% silk is chosen for its exceptional sheen and luxurious feel. Stretching the silk taut on a frame, I hand-paint each piece with Sumi brushes and high-quality French paints. While the paint is still wet, I apply a special salt, which causes the colors to blend together. Others were painted with silk dyes and steam set using no stretcher.
Metallic opaque paint was used in painting the Black scarves and several different methods where used to apply the paint. 1) hand painted - abstract and bamboo series, 2) stamped or Frottage.
All may be washed and damp iron and each is finished with a hand-rolled hem. |
